Applications are invited for the Fonds SUEZ grant program from initiatives which aims to combat exclusion by favouring inclusion and consequently sustainably improving the living conditions and autonomy of persons in developing countries via access to essential services, social insertion and social harmony. Here the focus is given to those projects that work on giving access to essential services – water, sanitation and waste management – for underprivileged populations in developing countries.
The submitted projects are assessed and accepted using a four-step process, based on assessments by the various instances and employees specialized in voluntary projects and skill-based sponsorship programs. The board of directors makes the final decision and votes on the donation of funds and skills to fund which projects.
The SUEZ foundation structures its actions and choice of grants awarded according to a set of basic principles:
- -The active implication of the populations concerned, which constitutes the first step towards achieving their autonomy,
- -The reinforcement of knowledge and expertise, via awareness-raising and training for all of the stakeholders: populations and local players,
- -The sustainability of the projects,
- -Support for innovation,
- -A joint commitment with partners, according to a relationship based on mutual respect, a listening ear and joint development.
