About The Grant

The Chivas Venture Social And Environmental Issues Grant are inviting applications from social entrepreneurs from around the world who are using business to create a better future. The Chivas Venture collaborate with the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, at the University of Oxford, to select the most promising entries from the applications who will get to attend the 3-day Accelerator programme, financial support to enhance their innovative startups that use business to solve social or environmental problems and global exposure amongst other things.20 finalists will be selected and they will be attending the Accelerator program where they further pitch their venture.

Timeline

The deadline to apply is October 31st 2018. In March 2019, all 20 global finalists will be flown to the United Kingdom to take part in our Accelerator Programme in London.

Focus Area

The focus is wide and encompasses all businesses or start-ups that are aimed at social development.

Grant/Award Information

The selected grantees will receive global exposure, a share of $1million dollars in no-strings funding, a 3-day Accelerator Programme in the UK, and a bunch of world-changing new friends.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for this grant competition, you must be:

  1. The founder, co-founder or a key decision-maker who will represent your business throughout the competition.
  2. aged 25 years old or over (as of 31 October 2018), and speak fluent English. 
  3. Your start-up must already be registered as a for-profit entity in the country you’re located, and earn no more than $1.5 million in annual revenue (from 1 September 2017 to 1 September 2018).

Chivas Venture was launched in  2014, as a global platform to support entrepreneurs who are solving the world’s biggest social and environmental issues. They are the philanthropic arm of Chivas Regal. Every year, they give away $1 million in no-strings funding and expert coaching at the Chivas Venture Accelerator Programme. Over the last 4 years, they have supported 100 startups with funding and coaching. Thus, collectively they have already enriched the lives of more than 1 million people in over 40 countries, across 6 continents.
