The IIT Kharagpur Alumni Association Bangalore Chapter along with all other IITs and IITACB, has been supporting the 'Light for Education' program since 2010. Since 2010, we have been providing solar lamps to rural and tribal school going children.
This year, we plan to raise funds to provide smart classroom solution to rural government schools under the scheme named eShala.
The eShala solution comprises of 40'' LED Smart TV, Solar Panels with UPS and content for three grades, 5th to 7th or 8th to 10th only for 3 subjects- Math, Science and English Grammar- in either English or Kannada. The content is in line with the syllabus prescribed by the Government of Karnataka and enhances learning in the classroom with visual explanations of concepts and videos with a five-year license.
The eShala Program aims to provide a holistic solution that improves the quality of classroom education and increases learning effectiveness by implementing digital educational content and digital tools powered by solar energy in rural schools.
A typical system cost for Smart TV + Solar UPS with five-year warranty & course content with 5-year license along with consumables comes to about Rs.87500/-. Out of this amount, your contribution will be around Rs.25000/- and the rest will be raised by Menda Foundation headed by IIT Kharagpur alum Mr. Arjun Menda and local donors.
Donate generously to ensure Government school children have access to computer-aided learning.
