THE NEED

THE NEED

We saw there are many children who are uneducated or even illiterate, so we decided to share with them the knowledge we have and help them to take their first step towards literacy. We chose to educate the underprivileged kids from slums. We chose this topic because education is the biggest gift we can give to anyone as we get it easily but these kids don't.

ACTION

PLAN OF ACTION

We helped these kids to learn many things which involved reading and writing English, good habits, meditation, poems in English and Hindi. In fact, it helped some of the kids to step out of illiteracy which was a big achievement for us. Some of the options we had considered were- Spreading awareness regarding this issue, Convincing parents of such kids to get them educated, Educating them by ourselves. We decided to educate such kids by ourselves, as we found it most effective, bold and reliable. We began gathering such kids, teaching them various things, giving gifts and playing games and encouraging them to study further.

EXPECTED IMPACT

EXPECTED IMPACT

About 50 kids are no more called illiterate as now they can write their name, do signature and also know the value of education. They now wish to study further and achieve something in life. Our plan of action for future is to keep visiting the particular area and keep updating them with the importance of education and continuing the studies. We are planning to look forward to other slum areas to help the children there as well. While targeting kids even certain parents approached us to get themselves educated as well. They said- "We will now study further and become people who can bring a positive change in society. Thank you for teaching our kids. It is a huge help and the work you inspired us to a great extent."
