THE NEED

THE NEED

I am Mr. Vishal P Paranjape, and I am the president of Gram Sewa Sangh, Nagpur. We are an NGO who have been working directly towards the betterment and development of people living in slums and villages. We also provide the children living in these areas with basic education in the form of tuitions and complete academic material throughout the year.

As we all know, Covid-19 has affected Maharashtra the worst. The current lockdown means that these poor people have been left without any source of income. They do not have enough food, and also lack basic sanitation and hygiene resources to survive the ongoing crisis. Many families have already been affected by the virus. The next few weeks are very critical and we want to help and support these families during these difficult times.

We wish to donate preventive kits, food kits, grocery, dairy products, and basic amenities to all such families and ensure that they survive the pandemic that has spread widely though out these areas. We want to support their needs and make sure they are healthy and immune enough to fight the contagious virus

We have a database of all families who may who need our help and support and we will distribute these items at their doorsteps with the help of our volunteers at our NGO. You can visit our website www.gramsewasangh.org.in for more details and questions regarding our cause.

EXPECTED IMPACT

EXPECTED IMPACT

We are implementing programs focused on providing grocery items, preventive kits and essential items to the families living in slum and village areas. For that we are designing models which we were using to plan and implement projects. I design my project according to the specific needs of the community they are being implemented in. This requires doing assessment and talking with the community when planning a program. Each community faces different obstacles, and designing programs around these unique needs makes program more effective and efficient. This specialized design also attracts greater involvement and support from the community. Involving the community in the planning and decision making of programs strengthen the relationship between NGOs, the communities and projects. So, we provide our support to these families by providing grocery items time to time, distributing vegetables, providing clean drinking water), and in many other ways. Our aim is to provide them a better life and a healthy atmosphere.
