These Waterless Urinals eliminate the mechanism of flushing in urinals and make the restroom waterless and odourless.
Ekam Eco Solutions developed Zerodor Waterless Urinals as an innovative intervention in the space of sustainable sanitation and water. It aims to develop technology which protects human health and environment, promotes natural abundance of water and recover nutrients from urine and faeces.
Zerodor can be easily retrofitted into the existing urinals (IS 2963:1979) and each installation of Zerodor saves around 50,000 to 1,50,000 ltrs of fresh water per annum, that is otherwise wasted in flushing. Zerodor has been successfully implemented at several corporate houses, academic institutions, public facilities, schools, colleges and hospitals and user feedback has shown high levels of satisfaction.
Conventional water flush urinals use approx 4 ltrs of water for flushing. This figure goes upto 10-15 ltr when a toilet pan with flush is used for urinating. Zerodor Waterless Urinals do not require water for flushing and can be promoted in multiple venues to harvest urine as a resource. Reduction in infrastructure - no replaceable parts - required for water supply and wastewater treatment, and the low maintenance cost is a spinoff arising from installing waterless urinals. The concept, founded on the principles of ecological sanitation, can be fitted to most existing urinal pans and helps in preventing environmental damage caused by conventional flush sanitation systems.
Zerodor eliminates the mechanism of flushing and saves 50,000-150,000 litres of water per year per urinal.
