Using novel technologies developed Indigenously, the product is set apart from any of its counterparts. The innovative product is developed for storage of fruits, vegetables, flowers and other perishables. The solar cold room incorporates several patents pending technologies that makes the product suitable for a reliable operation on the field. The innovative thermal storage technology provides backup up to 24 hours during non-sunshine hours. The normal battery systems have the disadvantage of high charging-discharging losses and high replacement costs. The system is completely portable and can be shifted from one location to another with great ease. The system also has the capacity to completely charge itself with just 6 to 8 hours of grid electricity. It automatically detects the critical conditions and charge itself from the grid on non-sunshine days. The system can also be operated via DG sets and the unit ensures optimum loading of the DG set enabling it to run at maximum efficiency. Coupled with smart controls, it maintains temperature, humidity and air-quality parameters inside the room at recommended conditions. This robust system ensures freshness and long shelf for commodities that are stored. The unique battery-less back-up system entails virtually zero maintenance and running costs. It has pre-cooling capability and has staging space it can serve as an ideal part of a pack house. The system also has a remote predictive maintenance system. The storage volume is 750 cu ft and the temperature inside can be maintained between 4C to 10C, suitable for almost all the horticulture and floriculture produces plus humidity can be controlled in the range of 80 to 95 % inside the system with our central control system, the power system and the refrigeration system work in tandem to ensure maximum efficiency at all points of time thereby minimizing solar panel requirement, the production cost and ensuring seamless operation. The modularity of the product enables scalability according to user needs. The features of the product include: Well-designed storage area, roof mounted solar panels, battery-less backup system, intelligent control system with integrated user-interface.

The green revolution created a sense of euphoria that it has resolved production problems, but today problems of under investment in rural infrastructure development have cropped up.The large percentage of population in India is dependent on agriculture for their livelihood. Though it is important to increase crop productivity, it is also equally important to manage produce well post-harvest.The wastage is up to 4% in food grain and up to 18% in horticultural crops post-harvest. This calls clear steps in terms of post-harvest management at farm level. So to address this issue Ecofrost stands as a solution, which has portable model that can be easily deployed at farm level and provide cold room facility to farmers.
