Eye-D mobile application is a one-stop solution when it comes to exploring and navigating to nearby places of interest like ATM, Bus stop, Banks, Food joints, Hospitals and more.
Eye-D application empowers visually impaired with technology to help them lead a confident and independent life.The app provides the following data-points:
- Location of person
- Voice enabled navigation
- Voice enabled reading
- Object identification
Available only in Google play store, the app uses Google maps for certain navigational features. Be it a book, bill, menu card or newspaper, one can click a picture and relax while Eye-D reads it for them. Eye-D is also capable of reading handwritten text up to some extent. Eye-D announces location along with landmarks making it easy for users to relate to any location. Users can start navigating to landmarks by taping them.
With over 35 million visually-impaired people across the world and no notable assistive technology available, Eye-D was built to enrich their quality of life by empowering them with outdoor navigation, right from the nearest ATM to a remote village, all with an audio-based app. The innovation of Eye-D app lies in helping users in doing their daily tasks without sighted assistance. Eye-D App is designed to serve as a reliable companion for blind and visually impaired to help them lead an independent life.
