Learning is fun & experiential (LIFE) Lab is about making school education fun & engaging to maximize every child’s potentials. The innovation lies in creating simple pedagogical processes & systems that enables every teacher to bridge their own knowledge gap; skill gap & mindset gap required to facilitate Inquiry based teaching - learning practices in classrooms. This system level approach involving school management; teachers & children helps solve the complex problem of ‘algorithmic-learning’ inherent in the design of teaching – learning methods. Life-lab intervenes in schools to foster frugal & easy-to-make interactive teaching/learning aids in the following manner:
a) Setting up Interactive Science lab (upgrading the existing lab)
b) Providing grade-specific DIY activity kits mapped to curriculum for students going hand-in hand with the Science books.
c) Providing Teacher & Student-friendly video/activity manuals & comics that inculcate inquiry & maximize mastery levels of child
d) Building capacities of teachers by providing training & consultancy support at planning, execution & implementation stage
e) Conducting Impact Studies to make informed decisions & accordingly channelize on-going support structure to achieve the goal – where educators adopt an integrated approach of ‘feel & touch’ based pedagogy to teach science & extend it beyond the boundaries of academic domains in all the subjects
