This RVM can crush 300 PET bottles in an hour and ensure they get 100% recycled. It's a compact, automatic and noiseless machine that takes care of the waste at the source of generation itself .
The machines crushes polyethylene terephtalate (PET) bottles into chips and pellets first, and then into recyclable flakes. It solves the problem of how to reuse or where to throw the bottles immediately and the chances of the bottles ending up in landfills is tremendously reduced. The machine is compact and noiseless and can be placed in company/college campuses, residential buildings, commercial complexes etc. Every time someone drops a bottle inside the refrigerator-sized machine, BioCrux senses it and starts working automatically. The flakes are stored in a bin that can accumulate up to 500 bottles or 10 kg of flakes. BioCrux can crunch 300 bottles in an hour and accept 200 to 2000 ml bottles. Once the bottles are crushed, the flakes are sent to another organization that recycles the output. The flakes are converted to resin, which is then reused to make objects like dustbins, plastic manhole covers, bio-toilet doors, polyester fibre, etc.
It rewards the users through a sms-based couponing system.
Plastic bottles take between 450-1000 years to decompose. After use and to the point of getting recycled, a huge number of plastic bottles end up in landfills. This machine addresses the problem at the source. If accessible to the initial users of the plastic bottles, it immediately crushes the bottles into recyclable flakes. It's rewarding system makes it attractive to the end users and makes the community a part of the waste management cycle driving eco-consciousness.
Captures the waste at the source and reduces the plastic footprint. Also, ensures that the waste is 100% recyclable. 1 machine in a year reduces 43.2 metric tons of CO2 emissions. Also saves 5-6 litres of water used in/kg of waste recycling.
It can be accessed by anyone and is therefore scalable and sustainable. Drives waste management by involving the community at large and brings in awareness and eco-consciousness.
1 machine in a year saves 1000 litres of crude oil. Since it works at point of consumption, it eleminates the cost involved in the entire cycle for the bottles to reach the point of recycling.
