The initiative pioneers government-approved syllabus in the form of cartoons to help the child engage, and learn, dream up an imaginary world, on their own, in a stress-free way.
India has a complex learning system with many boards like CBSE, ICSE, State Boards in every state and others. Sadly, the privilege of good learning tools stays with private school going children. Efundu bridges this learning gap with topics based on NCERT (National Council of Educational Research & Training) and further updates it with relevant topics of today. So while it's fun to learn for any child, it also promotes equal learning in government schools. The main advantage of Efundu lies in letting the child's imagination run wild, something that cannot be achieved from generic textbooks. Visual aids present a powerful option to enhance information sharing. This is demonstrated wonderfully as children dream up an imaginary world around them, absorbing information on their own. Efundu has been approved for ages 10-12, as prescribed by NCERT. Renowned cartoonist B G Gujjarappa has designed the cartoons for Efundu. The lessons are conveyed through Zyno, a friendly alien, who has all the answers for his friends little Inga and Mini. Over 10,000 copies have been distributed in 1100 government schools across Bengaluru by the team.
Efundu borders on education and entertainment, and is a real stress-free way to learn. The pedagogy used is self-learning and comics are truly an addictive medium to share information. Normally parents have to split time between school content and cartoons, but Efundu enables syllabus content delivery with the addiction of cartoons. Truly the best of both worlds. Efundu further helps learning as it provides content as a bilingual learning tool, integrating English and regional language in the same book.
The aim is to provide standard learning material to all children irrespective of their background and enable them with a strong foundation to gain confidence and competitiveness.
For the private school students, the Efundu book is available for under $2. Two such books cover Environmental Science for a grade, hence 2 books can be brought for under $3.
