The Plastic Bottle Village is built using revolutionary techniques in eco-building and utilizes recycled plastic bottles as its main insulation inside of its concrete walls, taking a green approach, with the owners of these properties sharing a conscious, earth-friendly shift in their way of living.

The homes in the Plastic Bottle Village are constructed, or as they like to say “re-constructed” out of recycled plastic bottles. The community offers three model homes, designed by the team as well as top architecture firms throughout Panama. Custom designed homes are also accepted. The homes at The Village are equipped with a septic tank system, piped water catchment gutters, plumbing, electrical, standard windows, and doors and an exterior sidewalk. The Village has begun selling homes in phase one, and has thirty-six natural lots left, to be built upon.

The innovation

THE INNOVATION

It is observed that a human being 80 years old leaves behind a minimum of 14,000 plastic bottles on this planet. These bottles take hundreds of years to break down into tiny pieces of plastic, never to completely disappear. Most of the waste is consumed by fish and birds, which shortens their lifespans greatly. Living in a plastic bottle house of 200 square meters, the house will be reusing 14,000 plastic bottles. The Plastic Bottle Village’s innovative model inspires to bring together a collective of minds and bodies, to work together to create awareness, and to take part in educating the world, to the positive effects of re-using an eco building with recycled materials.
