Flood relief programmes

Narayanpur, Lakhimpur, Assam, India | 01/01/2017 to Present

Nava Asom Nirman Foundation organised relief programmes at Bamkolakhuwa of Dibrugarh District and Narayanpur area of Lakhimpur District which were stricken by the calamitous flood of the current year.

Preparation

Helping people in distress by raising funds from donors and translating it to actual assistance to the affected people at the ground level is a challenging affair. While serving others is not obligatory it undeniably gives us a sense of satisfaction at having done our mite towards society. As the well known saying goes – “It is in giving that we receive”.

With this objective, Nava Asom Nirman Foundation organised relief programmes at Bamkolakhuwa of Dibrugarh District and Narayanpur area of Lakhimpur District which were stricken by the calamitous flood of the current year. Mosquito net was chosen as one of the relief material because more lives were taken by vector borne disease caused due to floods than flood itself.

Similarly, notebooks & pens were distributed to provide support to the poor school going children whose study materials were spoiled by the deluge. Encouraging feedbacks on the same have been received from several quarters.
