Ganit Mala & Maan Card improved Kartik in Maths!

Kartik Shravan Nemade a child of a poor farm worker from Lonikale village situated at the foot hill in Buldana dist. Kartik a class III student could neither write nor recognize the figures. After his enrolment to the free learning classes of VSP with support of quality teacher Mr. Samadhan Doifode he was taught through the technique of using learning aids such as Gantimala (string of beads) and MAAN card. This quality education not only equipped to learn & write numbers but he was empowered to also share this learning to his classmate in school. Innovative learning material such Ganit mala and Maan card & constant project team intervention made it possible for Kartik to learn maths.







Preparation



Base Line - Interaction with Child and Family - Assessing the Classroom Practices

Initially Kartik baseline test was taken to assess the level of the child for learning deficiency, following this a strategy was planned by the team to cater to the child deficiency need.

The implementation was initiated with small efforts of intervention and support classes in learning centre. Kartik was given a category that is level of deficiency in the scale of A-D where A being highest and D being lowest. Various learning material were used such as the Ganit mala and other learning material to improve his maths abilities.
